Community and Church Liaison Officer

with responsibility for older and isolated people (20hrs)

Office is at County Methodist Church, Harlech Street, Walton, Liverpool L4 3RJ

The Liverpool North Central Circuit is seeking a part-time Community and Church Liaison Officer, working amongst the disadvantaged and lonely in various communities of North Liverpool, from the existing church bases at County (Kirkdale), Kensington, Oakfield and West Derby.

Annual salary £14,290 – Basic working week will be 20 hours, including some evening and weekend work.

The successful candidate will be required to carry out DBS clearance.

Main Responsibilities

The main scope of this new post is to:

  • To identify people in the target group who are in need of support and to make genuine, caring relationships in order to improve their well being.
  • To work collaboratively within the Circuit alongside other local and voluntary organisations to establish maintain and develop work within the wider community.
  • To work alongside the Children and Family Worker and ministerial team to engage in intergenerational work.

There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be a current participant in a Christian church or community.
